[October 14, 2011]  Two individuals appeared in court Friday in a case arising out of arrests made in Logan County on Oct. 7. Jarrod S. Sanford and Jessica M. Lidy were each charged with the following counts: Count I -- involuntary sexual servitude of a minor, a Class X felony; Count II -- kidnapping, a Class 2 felony; and unlawful restraint, a Class 4 felony.

Sanford's Logan County case number is 2011 CF 137 and his bond is set at $100,000, with 10 percent to apply. Lidy's Logan County case number is 2011 CF 138, and her bond is set at $75,000, with 10 percent to apply.

Sanford was appointed a public defender, and his next court date is set for Oct. 25 at 9:30 a.m. Lidy was also appointed a public defender, and her next court date is set for Oct. 25 at 1:30 p.m.

Investigators say the girl is safe after being returned to her family in Tennessee.

Police say they arrested the couple after getting a call from a restaurant about a girl being held against her will. Police said the girl met Lidy through Facebook.

The charges against Sanford and Lidy are merely accusations. Sanford and Lidy are presumed innocent of each charge until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
