[October 21, 2011]  PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Chinese superstar pianist Lang Lang (long long) is celebrating the 200th birthday of his hero composer Franz Liszt (list) by playing a concert with the Philadelphia Orchestra that will be broadcast live in movie theaters around the world.

It's a homecoming of sorts for the 29-year-old phenomenon, who was born in China but lived in Philadelphia for a decade. He attended the exclusive Curtis Institute of Music, a few blocks from where he's taking the stage at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts.

Lang Lang is joining the orchestra and conductor Charles Dutoit (do-TWAH') for three performances of Liszt's famed Piano Concerto No. 1 along with other selections. Saturday's performance will be simulcast in movie theaters in Europe and the United States.

The Hungarian Liszt died in 1886.
