[October 21, 2011]  EUREKA -- The Lincoln Christian University volleyball team claimed victory over NCAA Division III Eureka College in four sets Wednesday in Eureka. The LCU record now stands at 14-9.

The Red Lions lost the first set to the Eureka Red Devils 22-25 but came back strong to take the next three sets 25-10, 25-12 and 25-20.

Alicia Carson led LCU with 16 kills, while Jamie McFadden pounded out 13 kills. Emma Donnelly helped out defensively with 22 digs, and Lydia Bunting had 48 assists during the match.

Head coach Jason Farr said afterward: "We started out very sluggish, as we have been doing the last couple weeks. Alicia and Emma really stood out tonight. We have to keep building so that we end the season well."

The Red Lions volleyball team will play four games this weekend in a tournament at Millikin in Decatur.

LCU’s School of Undergraduate Studies is a member of the National Christian College Athletic Association, Division II.
