Lincoln man struck, killed by train

[October 29, 2011]  Jimmy D. Jordan, 42, of Lincoln, was pronounced dead at 5 p.m. near the former Pittsburgh Plate Glass factory in Lincoln.

Jordan was struck by a southbound Amtrak passenger train.

The train was delayed for an hour and a half in Lincoln while officials investigated. The Lincoln Police Department is handling the investigation of the accident.

Lincoln police and firefighters, the Logan County Paramedic Association, and the Logan County coroner's office were at the scene.

According to Logan County Coroner Robert Thomas, the autopsy will be performed on Monday in Springfield.

Funeral arrangements are pending.
