[October 31, 2011]  With all of the success of this year's Lincoln College men's soccer team, several players and the head coach have also reaped personal rewards. Edwin Moalosi was named Region 24 Player of the Year and Anders Madsen was named Defender of the Year for Region 24. Also, Moalosi, Madsen and Julio Velasquez were named to the all-region first team, while Ruben Gaytan and Mario Alfario were named to the second team. Head coach Ben Massena was named Region 24 Coach of the Year for the second consecutive year.

The men's soccer team is fresh off their Region 24 championship win against Illinois Central College. Lincoln (17-3 and ranked No. 13 in the nation) travels to take on MCC Maple Woods (12-3-3) in Kansas City for the district final. The winner of the district final advances to the NJCAA Division 1 national tournament in Phoenix, Ariz.
