Salvation Army asks for assistance for family displaced by fire

[September 01, 2011]  A Lincoln family displaced by fire on Tuesday is being assisted by Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services. Emergency lodging, food, clothing and other immediate needs have been provided to the family.

Members of the community desiring to contribute to the family's recovery and welfare, either financially or with in-kind donations, are encouraged to contact the Keest Center office in Lincoln, 217-732-7890, ext. 11, for more information on specific needed items and long-term disaster recovery needs.

The family has requested that their privacy be respected as they recover from this devastating event and that anyone wishing to assist contact the Keest Center directly. Property owners or landlords wishing to provide new permanent housing options to the family are also encouraged to contact the Keest Center office.
