Sprints are coming back to Lincoln Speedway

[September 02, 2011]  Winged Sprint cars are returning to Lincoln Speedway tonight (Friday). The Midwest Open Wheel Association Winged Sprints will be in action, along with Modifieds, Street Stocks and the Pro-Late Models. In July, the last time Sprint cars were at the Lincoln Speedway, Korey Weyant took home the checkered flag in his first MOWA win.

Jared Hull is leading the series in points as the racers come to Lincoln. However, Jimmy Hurley is coming on strong after his strong second-place finish at LaSalle a couple of weeks ago. Only eight points separate Robbie Standridge and Jim Moughan Jr. for the third-place spot in the series.

With the end of the season drawing near, racers want to get on the track as much as they can. The points races might have already been determined for the track championship, but that won't change the racing style. It's often said that racing isn't a hobby, it's in the blood, and for these drivers and crews, they will be racing hard and going after the win.

Racing action will start with hot laps at 6:30 p.m.
