[September 06, 2011]  The Abraham Lincoln Tourism Bureau of Logan County will have their fifth annual Fall Farm Days on Sept. 10 and 11. This year, Fall Farm Day has evolved into a weekend saluting ag in Logan County. The tourism bureau will be saluting the Mount Pulaski area and continuing through Chestnut and into the Beason and Lincoln area.

Once again there will not be a bus or any specific route. Instead, some places of interest will be highlighted where there will be open houses, showcasing all that they have to offer.

Saturday highlights will include the Lincoln Farmer's Market at Scully Park from 7 a.m. to noon and the Lincoln Corn Maze from 1 to 10 p.m.

On Sunday, Mount Pulaski -- which throughout the year has been celebrating the 175th anniversary of its founding -- will highlight the Mount Pulaski Courthouse State Historic Site, where Bob Church will give a presentation at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Abe Lincoln as surveyor. Shops on the downtown square will also be open. At Chestnut, the home of the Geocenter, a handful of their shops will be open. Gail's Pumpkin Patch will also be open, with special entertainment and presentations by Paul Gleason on Sunday. Gleason, a local historian, will give a presentation at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on agriculture during the Civil War.

Typically, the Sunday tour hours run from 1 to 4 p.m. Buff's Family Restaurant in Mount Pulaski and Chestnut Family Restaurant both are great dining options in the area to kick off your day of fun.

The Abraham Lincoln Tourism Bureau is proud to salute agriculture and agritourism through the county. Call 217-732-8687 or contact the office by email, admin@abe66.com, with your questions.
