Sennett has degrees from Illinois State University and Lincoln
Christian Seminary. Most of her work experience has been in
education, teaching high school math and substitute teaching.
Although Sennett is new to The Christian Village, she is not new
to volunteerism. She has done volunteer work since her teenage
years, when she was active in Girl Scouts and a youth group. She has
continued to volunteer often since then, including continued
affiliation with Girl Scouts and her church.
In her new position at The Christian Village, Sennett is seeking
more volunteers to serve there.
"We need people to help with activities, host birthday parties,
sew clothing protectors and make table centerpieces -- even change
light bulbs," Sennett said. "We especially need volunteers to visit
with residents, to read to them or to pray with them. We're looking
for individuals to share their entertainment skills with the
residents, whether it's musical ability, juggling, magic or dancing.
"Volunteers can serve any time of the day, but we really need
those who can come in the evenings or on Saturdays, since most come
on weekday mornings," she said. "We welcome volunteers of all ages.
It's an ideal opportunity for home-school families.

"Not only do volunteers bless the residents with their service,
they themselves are blessed by the camaraderie here," Sennett added.
"There's nothing like working together in service to bring people
together."
Individuals or groups interested in volunteering at The Christian
Village can contact Sennett at 732-2189.
