[September 08, 2011]  Lincoln College women's soccer (0-2) lost to Heartland College (2-1) 5-0 on Wednesday.

Brittany Ashburn made some big saves to keep the Lynx in the game early. Several injuries forced the Lynx to play the second half without any subs, allowing a fresh Heartland team to put away a few goals late in the game.

LC coach Amber Angermeier commented:

"I thought the ladies fought very hard tonight. Our play on the field was a big improvement from our first match. Unfortunately, several injuries to some key players forced us to play without any subs, and Heartland took advantage of this, using their depth to wear us out.

"I am very pleased at the performance this afternoon. We fought hard and are making some key improvements in our play. I look forward to getting some of the injuries healed so we can get back to a full side."
