September 13, 2011]  Regional Office of Education 38 and Lincoln Community High School District 404, in conjunction with the Teachers' Retirement System, are scheduling a group meeting to provide information about TRS benefits and to explain the retirement process. Members of the retirement system who have questions about their benefits and the retirement process should plan to attend the group meeting in the LCHS auditorium on Tuesday, Sept. 20, at 4:30 p.m.


An NFL Punt, Pass and Kick contest will be on Sunday, Sept. 18, at 1 p.m. at Lincoln Community High School’s Handlin Field.

The competition has 10 age divisions:

Boys

  • Ages 6 and 7

  • Ages 8 and 9

  • Ages 10 and 11

  • Ages 12 and 13

  • Ages 14 and 15

Girls

  • Ages 6 and 7

  • Ages 8 and 9

  • Ages 10 and 11

  • Ages 12 and 13

  • Ages 14 and 15

Ages are as of Dec. 31, 2011.

Cub Scout Pack 4101 is hosting a recruitment event at 6 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 15, at the West Lincoln-Broadwell Elementary School cafeteria. Boys in first through fifth grade and their parents are invited to learn about the fun, excitement and adventures of belonging to Cub Scouts, including a camping trip scheduled for this month. Visitors will be invited to stay for the regular September pack meeting at 7 p.m.

Cub Scout Pack 4101 includes boys from the following schools: West Lincoln-Broadwell, Zion Lutheran, Carroll Catholic and Chester-East Lincoln. For more information, contact Tim McCraith at 217-735-1482.

An Xbox Split/Second Tournament for sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at the Lincoln Park District Rec Center. Preregistration is $3 and is limited to the first 14 players. Preregister at info@lincolnparkdistrict.com. The event is sponsored by Family Video, Lincoln Park District and Little Caesars Pizza.
