[September 12, 2011]  MOUNT PULASKI -- Mount Pulaski congratulates the Mount Pulaski 175th Anniversary Committee for their very successful ongoing events this year, climaxing with the four-day celebration over the Fourth of July weekend. Representing the committee as grand marshals of the parade at the Mount Pulaski Fall Festival were Waneta Stephens and Waldo and Rosalie Bertoni.

Along with Stephens, the Bertonis have been active members of the Mount Pulaski Township Historical Society and the planning committee for the 175th anniversary celebration.

Stephens was the founder and first president of the historical society, which established the town's two-building, two-story museum on the south side. She has written two books on her family history.

Rosalie Bertoni also belongs to the Lincoln College Soiree Committee and is a longstanding member of the Mount Pulaski WWII Girl's Club.

Waldo Bertoni is a trustee of Lincoln College and a member of Mount Pulaski Rotary, Mount Pulaski American Legion and Lincoln Elks. He is a recent Casimir Pulaski Award recipient as one of five "Most Distinguished Graduates" of Mount Pulaski High School. He is a West Point graduate and a retired colonel of the U.S. Air Force.
