"This was a well-played game on both sides by two very similar
ballclubs. We just didn't get the big hit when we needed it and
Mount Pulaski did. I give their guys a lot of credit.
"But, we didn't give up, being down two with one out in the
bottom of the seventh and the bases loaded. We had the guys we
wanted coming to the plate, but it just didn't go our way. I'm proud
of our guys for staying in the game and competing to the end.

"Although we finished 4-15 this year, the improvement I saw from
our guys was incredible. All 11 guys got better at playing the game.
And with such a short season and not many practices, sometimes you
can't always say that."
Mount Pulaski will play the No. 1 seed on Saturday at 10 a.m. at
WLB's Miller Field.
