[September 14, 2011]  A traveling exhibit, "Prologue to Presidency: Abraham Lincoln on the Illinois Eighth Judicial Circuit," will be on display at the 41st annual Abraham Lincoln National Railsplitting Festival taking place this weekend in Lincoln. The 20-panel display will be available for viewing both Saturday and Sunday at the Logan County Fairgrounds from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The display was created by the Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission of McLean County and circulated by the Heritage Association of McLean County and the David Davis Mansion State Historic Site. It is generously supported by the Illinois Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission, the Bloomington-Normal Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, the David Davis Mansion Foundation, the Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission of McLean County and the Looking for Lincoln Heritage Coalition.

With Logan County being so rich in Abraham Lincoln history, plus home to two of the courthouses that Abraham Lincoln once visited on the 8th Judicial Circuit, this is a great opportunity. Come out to the Railsplitter Festival and enjoy this step back into history along with many other historical displays that will be available.

For more information on the festival, visit www.railsplitting.com. More information regarding the David Davis Mansion State Historic Site can be found online at www.daviddavismansion.org.
