[September 19, 2011]  Lincoln's Open Table Concert Series continues with singer Saul Nache on Oct. 6 at Chad's Blind, 1230 Fifth St. in Lincoln. Concert doors open at 6:30 and the concert begins at 7 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door.

The evening promises a delightful smorgasbord of musical styles. Although classically trained, Saul will entertain at Chad's with pop music, including music from the Beatles and Elton John, as well as some contemporary music and musical theater.

As a classical singer, Nache has performed baritone solos in Faure's "Requiem," Mozart's "Requiem and Mass in C," Saint-Saens' "Christmas Oratorio," Vaghan Williams' "Christmas Fantasia" and Schubert's "Mass in G." He also has performed in many musicals, including "Jesus Christ Superstar," "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" and "Grease." Currently, he teaches music theater students at Illinois Wesleyan and voice students at Augustana College.

"We like to offer a variety of musical styles to our audiences," said Open Table organizer Cheryl Aper.

Committee member Julie Kasa adds, "I'm sure audiences will love to hear Saul sing. He has a gorgeous baritone voice and his pieces are sure to be crowd-pleasers."

According to Kasa, the Open Table Concert committee hopes for an even bigger audience for Nache than the record-breaking crowd that turned out recently for Sara Hickman.

Tickets for the Saul Nache concert are $5, and concert proceeds will be shared with the Lincoln/Logan Food Pantry.
