[September 23, 2011]  VILLAGE OF EAST TROY, Wis. (AP) -- Police in Wisconsin say two infants have been found dead after apparently being left unattended in a bathtub.

Village of East Troy Police Chief Alan Boyes says in a news release that officers responded Thursday afternoon to a report of two unresponsive individuals in an apartment. The officers attempted to perform CPR on the infants, who were taken to a hospital where they were pronounced dead.

Authorities were releasing little information about the case except that a preliminary investigation had determined the babies were left in the tub unattended.

Village of East Troy is about 30 miles south of Milwaukee.
