[September 23, 2011]  Last week, the Lincoln College volleyball team moved into the NJCAA national poll at 19th, and this week the team has moved up one notch to 18th. In the past week Lincoln played three higher ranked teams, going 1-2.

On Thursday the Lincoln team was scheduled to play a Carl Sandburg team that is receiving votes in the top 20.

Lincoln College competes in Region 24, one of the toughest regions in the NJCAA. Just two years ago the top two teams in Region 24 finished first in the nation and third in the nation. This year Region 24 has seen four of their teams ranked in the top 20.

Head coach Mark Tippett keeps the volleyball team at Lincoln College running strong. He is in the middle of his 10th season at LC and is on his way to his fifth consecutive 20-win season.

Lincoln's next home match is against Lincoln Land Community College on Wednesday, and then the Lincoln triangular meet is on Oct. 1.
