[September 23, 2011]  The Four Seasons Gardening program, sponsored by University of Illinois Extension, wraps up with a three-part fall series. The first topic this fall is "Invaders of the Weedy Kind." The session will be presented Oct. 4 via teleconference at the Logan County U of I Extension office in Lincoln, beginning. at 1 p.m.

Participants will learn to identify weeds that potentially can choke out and destroy desirable plants and large areas of landscapes. The program is a continuation from the spring session on invasive woody plants.

Other topics in the fall series are "An Introduction to Sustainable Backyard Landscaping," on Oct. 18, and "Community Gardens," on Nov. 1.

Cost per session is $5. Advance registration is needed. Phone or email the U of I Extension office for more details at 217-732-8289 or amyhyde@illinois.edu. If you have disability needs, please indicate when registering.
