LCU volleyball defeats Faith Baptist on the road

[September 24, 2011]  The Lincoln Christian University Red Lions volleyball team traveled to Ankeny, Iowa, on Thursday to take on the Faith Baptist Bible College Eagles. The Red Lions beat the Eagles decisively in three sets: 25-12, 25-9, 25-11.

The Red Lions were led by 6-foot freshman outside hitter Alicia Carson, who pounded 12 kills, and senior setter Lydia Bunting, who dished out 26 assists, two kills, one service ace and one block assist. Senior outside hitter Jamie McFadden contributed nine kills, five digs, one service ace and one block assist.

The Red Lions volleyball team is coached by Jason Farr.

This was the LCU volleyball team's seventh match of the season and their fifth match on the road. This weekend they are traveling to Grace University in Omaha, Neb., for the Grace Classic, where pool play was to begin Friday at 6 p.m.
