[September 28, 2011]  WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama is making his case to Hispanic voters, ready to argue that his jobs plan will benefit Latino workers and businesses while assuring them of his commitment to an overhaul of immigration laws.

The president will answer questions during an Internet roundtable Wednesday, streamed live at http://www.whitehouse.gov/live/.

The questions will be posed by readers of Yahoo!, MSN Latino and AOL Latino/Huffington Post Latino Voices.

A strong majority of Hispanics supported Obama's election in 2008. But his support among Hispanics has declined, as it has with the broader population. Unemployment among Hispanics is 11.3 percent, compared with 9.1 percent overall.

Obama is working to shore up support among his core 2008 backers, acknowledging that many are not as energized as they were then.
