[September 27, 2011]  A Community Night at Allison Park is planned for Wednesday, with an opportunity to visit with Mayor Keith Snyder and the Ward 5 aldermen, Marty Neitzel and Jeff Hoinacki. Representatives of From the Ground Up, the Lincoln Police Department and Lincoln Fire Department will also be there.

From the Ground Up will plant new flower beds at the park beginning at 3:30 p.m. You are invited to come and help plant 400 red tulips in the flower beds and buy tulips for the Plant the Town Red project. The cost is $15 for 100 bulbs.

The tulips that will be planted at Allison Park have been donated by Neitzel and Hoinacki.

At 5:30, D.A.R.E. will grill hot dogs and serve chips and soda.

Be sure to check out the police squad car and city fire truck while you are there.

Bring your lawn chairs (and your camera) and spend the evening visiting with neighbors and old friends, or make some new ones.

Rain date for the event will be Oct. 12.
