[September 29, 2011]  The Lincoln College men's soccer team made it five region wins in a row this season and got their fourth shutout in region matches with a 2-0 home victory Wednesday versus Southwestern Illinois College.

Lincoln scored first when left back Diego Figueroa crossed a ball into Chukwuka Iwe, who flicked the ball past the keeper into the upper 90 of the goal. Lincoln would have several chances to move ahead in the half but couldn't capitalize on them, and at half the score was 1-0.

Lincoln scored their second goal on a corner when Anders Madsen headed the ball back across the frame for an unmarked Edwin Moalosi.

Lincoln ended the game with 15 shots while only giving up six.

With the win Lincoln moves into first place in Region 24 with three region matches left to play.

The Lynx take on St. Louis Community College at home at noon Sunday.
