Community gathering in Allison Park -- Album 2

[Click on photos below to enlarge.]

Wednesday evening in Mayfair Addition, as dusk approached, neighbors came out of their homes, carrying their lawn chairs to Allison Park. Some gathered in small groups to sit and visit. Others mingled about, visiting with firefighters, police officers and city officials. And yet others participated in the planting of red tulip bulbs in the park, a part of the Paint the Town Red program initiated by the From the Ground Up group.
Kids were seen checking out the city police squad car on display and playing with the mock firehouse and a real fire hose. In addition, there is a tree in the park that is perfect for climbing, as some members of Scout Troop 111 soon found out.

Neighbors gather to chat.

A future officer in the making?

Armed and ready…

...to put out a mock fire.

Just hangin' out.

A friendly gathering of neighbors.

Just relaxing in the grass.
