[March 30, 2012]  WAYNESVILLE -- Alan L. Craig, 61, of Waynesville, died Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at 7:37 p.m. at his home.

Waynesville – Alan L. Craig, 61, of Waynesville, passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at 7:37 p.m. at his home.

Funeral Services for Mr. Craig will be held on Monday, April 2, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta with Rev. Andrew Maxwell officiating.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 1, 2012, at the funeral home.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Waynesville at a later date.

Surviving Mr. Craig are his wife of 42 years, Marjorie Mardelle; daughter Michel (Tim) Emrick of Mt. Pulaski and son Russel (Jennifer) Craig of Lincoln; three grandchildren: Zachary and Julianna Craig and Andrew Emrick; one sister, Carol (Steve) LaDew of Waynesville; and three brothers: Wayne (Judy) Craig of California, Kenny Craig of McLean, and Russel (Roseanne) Craig of Waynesville.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Director

Mr. Craig was born December 13, 1950, in Lincoln, the son of Fred A. and Hazel I. Pleines Craig. He married Marjorie Mardelle Woosley on January 2, 1970. She survives.

Alan was a member of the Waynesville Methodist Church. He worked for 42 years for Ralston Purina and then Cargill. He was a member of the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers Union local in Bloomington and the National Rifle Association. Alan enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

Memorials may be made to OSF Hospice at 211 N. Landmark, Suite D, Normal, 61761; the American Cancer Society or an organization of the donor’s choice.

Final arrangements are entrusted with Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home of Atlanta.
