This low caused severe weather over large metropolitan areas on Tuesday, including tornadoes in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The threat for widespread severe weather will be somewhat reduced on Wednesday, but tornadoes, hail and strong winds are possible from Louisiana through the Southeast coast.

In the Northeast, cloud cover will move into the region as a storm passes by to the north. Some of the northern New England states will see some quick snow showers throughout the day, though little to no snowfall accumulation is expected.

In the Southwest, clear skies are expected for most locations, with seasonably cool temperatures. Clouds will move into the region from the southwest late in the day, but should only cover southern California and Arizona.

Northern portions of California, along with the Four Corners and Nevada, will see mostly clear skies, with cool temperatures. The Northwest will see more rain and cloudy skies, with high-elevation snow anticipated for Washington and Oregon.

Temperatures in the Lower 48 states Tuesday ranged from a morning low of 6 degrees at West Yellowstone, Mont., to a high of 91 degrees at Valdosta Regional, Ga.
