NWS issues red flag: Dry air, dry vegetation plus high winds equals no burning today

[April 09, 2012]  Dry and windy will be the weather rule today, which will create dangerous conditions for outdoor burning. A "red flag warning" is in effect today, so consider delaying any burning chores for another day. A cold front will move through the area later today and bring cooler temperatures to the state. Expect highs in the 50s and lows in the 30s Tuesday and Wednesday. Freezing temperatures will be possible in the far north tonight and over a wider area Wednesday night. Quiet weather will continue through most of the week until a cold front brings a chance for thunderstorms this weekend.
