[April 10, 2012]  FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) -- Authorities say a 22-year-old Colorado man survived a leap from a fourth-floor window when sheriff's deputies arrived to arrest him on a charge of misdemeanor assault.

The Larimer County Sheriff's Department said Monday that 22-year-old Kyle Wayne Seery of Fort Collins was taken to a hospital with what appeared to be a broken ankle and other injuries.

The sheriff's department says Seery jumped out the window of a fourth-floor hotel room Friday when deputies knocked on the door and announced who they were.

Authorities say they'll contact him again after he's released from the hospital.

Details of the assault charge weren't released.
