[April 11, 2012]  Parents of all children: Christian Child Care, at 721 Wyatt Ave., is having an open house on Thursday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

The health department will do a car seat check and have car seats for families that may need them.

Inside the building, there will be snacks provided by Thorntons gas stations, a Scholastic book fair and a group of local programs to check out. Scheduled are Scentsy, Melaleuca, Lincoln Parent Center, public health, Avon and more. The Scholastic book fair is a buy-and-take, so if you want to purchase a book that evening, you can take it that night. The book fair will continue Friday. Also, Christian Child Care parents are invited to sign up for parent-teacher meetings to set goals for the summer for the children.

Christian Child Care is also introducing a new program for the summer. The center is starting a "begindergarten" for children 4-6 getting ready for kindergarten. This is a part-day program that will only be in five-week sessions. Children will learn skills to give them a jump-start for the first day at school. This will fill in the gap for children that may not have had any pre-K experience or do not have a program that will go through the summer. For more information, contact Coleen Moore, director, at 732-5750.
