Illinois country grain prices were
higher on Thursday afternoon, with soybeans and wheat sharply
higher. Good weekly export sales figures for soybeans and two
other export sales of US soybeans were enough news to push
prices higher.
The USDA announced the sale of 115,000 tonnes of US soybeans to
China and another sale of 189,000 tonnes to an unknown
destination.
In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted
shelled corn bids 1 to 2 cents higher at 6.18-6.34. Soybean bids
traded mostly 16 to 21 cents higher at 14.12-14.32.
In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn
bids were steady to 1 cent higher at 6.30-6.46. Soybean bids
were 18 to 19 cents higher at 14.18-14.29.
In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were 2
cents higher at 6.41-6.62. Soybean bids were 18 to 19 cents
higher at 14.27-14.43. Wheat bids were 10 to 11 cents higher at
6.18-6.39.
