Windy today with mild weather forecast Tuesday and Wednesday

[April 16, 2012]  The National Weather Service office in Lincoln released the following weather outlook at 5:35 a.m. Monday for the counties of Cass, Champaign, DeWitt, Fulton, Knox, Logan, Macon, Marshall, Mason, McLean, Menard, Morgan, Peoria, Piatt, Sangamon, Schuyler, Scott, Stark, Tazewell, Vermilion and Woodford in central and east-central Illinois.

Monday and Monday night:

An intense area of low pressure well to the north will produce another windy day across central through east-central Illinois. Southwest to west winds of 20 to 30 mph will prevail through most of the day, with gusts up to 40 mph at times. The wind is expected to quickly diminish toward sunset.

Tuesday through Sunday:

There will be another chance for thunderstorms beginning Wednesday night and Thursday north of Interstate 74 and again Thursday night into Friday across the entire area.
