[April 17, 2012]  The Lincoln College Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Combos will perform "An Evening of Jazz" on Friday at 7:30 at the Johnston Center for Performing Arts.

The program will feature music from the ragtime, contemporary, funk and swing eras. Original student arrangements and compositions will also be performed at the concert. Lincoln and Logan County residents T.J. Kissel, Derrick Spiker, Shelby Voyles, Cody Garretson, Matt Mason and Christian West are all members of this ensemble.

Scott Woger, Lincoln College's director of instrumental studies, said of the show: "This concert is the culmination of rehearsals for the year. For one night only, the audience will leave with their toes tapping with the music provided by some very talented musicians. You will not want to miss this concert."

At the conclusion of the performance, there will be a silent auction, including donated instruments and jazz art.

General admission is $1.
