Illinois country grain prices were mixed on Tuesday afternoon,
with corn and wheat lower and soybeans higher. Soybean values
were supported by the report of lower world oilseed production.
National Ag Statistics reported
that 17% of the US corn crop was planted compared to the 5 year
average of 5%. Illinois farmers have 41% of their corn in the
ground compared to the 5 year average of 6%.
In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted
shelled corn bids 3 to 7 cents lower at 6.03-6.12. Soybean bids
traded mostly 5 to 8 cents higher at 13.97-14.11.
In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn
bids were 5 to 9 cents lower at 6.10-6.24. Soybean bids were 3
to 6 cents higher at 14.00-14.13.
In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were mostly
6 to 8 cents lower at 6.18-6.41. Soybean bids were 3 to 9 cents
higher at 14.12-14.30. Wheat bids were steady to 7 cents lower
at 5.95-6.14.
