Join Lincoln Christian University as we welcome back Kathy Troccoli and Ellie Lofaro for the 2012 Christian Women's Conference on April 25, 2012. Nearly 1,000 women from across the Midwest gathered last spring to worship, learn, fellowship, and enjoy the day with Kathy and Ellie. Spaghetti for the Soul promises to be a feast of faith, hope, and love.  For information please phone 217-732-3168.


Spring for Tea is a premier Logan County spring event and open to women from this and other communities Saturday, April 21st. Tea and a variety of sweet and savory delicacies are served from tables tastefully appointed with silver, china and crystal. A perfect event for a ladies' day out. Hats are encouraged but not required. Limited seating. Tickets are on sale at the office of Lincoln Christian Church during regular office hours. For more details call Vera Thomas in the church office 732-7618. Doors open 10:45 am; tea served at 11:30 am at the Lincoln Christian Church Fellowship Center, 204 N. McLean. Proceeds go the Harvest of Talents for World Hunger.

3rd Saturday Community Meal will be hosted by St. John United Church of Christ, Seventh and Maple St., Saturday,April 21st. 5-7 pm. Meal is sponsored by Logan County Love and is open to the public. Menu includes pork chops, garlic roasted potatoes, corn, green beans, pudding parfait with cookie. Free. Donations are accepted but not necessary. Food donations go to local food pantries. Carryouts and Lincoln deliveries accepted. For delivery, call 217-671-3339.


 


Lincoln Christian Church, 204 N. McLean St., in downtown Lincoln is hosting a 5th-8th grade “Hands and Feet Saturday”, May 5th from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  They will be doing various service projects around town.  This is a great opportunity to practice being the hands and feet of Jesus.  Open to all 5th thru 8th graders.  It does not cost anything, but please bring a sack lunch.


Walk for Life is May 5th  from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at Lincoln Christian Church.  This is a fundraiser for Pregnancy Resource Center, a mission that serves unborn children by promoting life-affirming options and providing practical assistance, while sharing the gospel in word and deed, and to minister restoration to those who have been wounded by the trauma of abortion.  They are sustained completely by donations.  All services are offered at no cost to their clients and include pregnancy tests, maternity and baby items, and parenting and prenatal education.  For more information call 735-4838 or email Lincoln@hopeforafuture.com.


Just in time for Mother’s Day!  Harvest Plant Sale, Saturday. May 12th, 7 a.m. to Noon, at the home of Bob and Judy Monts, 520 Decatur St.  As you thin your perennials and saplings and repot houseplants, you can help feed the hungry by sharing some of your plant divisions, rooted start-ups, and established houseplant cuttings for the Harvest Plant Sale.  Deliver your donations to Judy Monts during the first week of May, including a note with the name of the plant/flower and care instructions.  Proceeds go the Harvest of Talents for World Hunger.  For more information contact montsfam@yahoo.com or call 217-855-8795.


VBS Adventure in the Son! June 24-28, 2012 at Lincoln Christian Church, 204 N. McLean St. in Lincoln. Join us this summer for Sonrise National Park VBS, a week of fun in the Son! As they participate in fun-filled activities, kids will be pointed directly to Jesus! We will have a great time with lively songs, hilarious skits, creative crafts, exciting games, Bible stories and tasty snacks- all of the things that make Vacation Bible School so much fun for kids!
