 Combining some of the top traditional musicians in the United
States, the St. Louis Rivermen perform jazz in the purest sense, and
they play everything from ballads to blues to barnburners.
World-renowned sousaphonist David "Red" Lehr's team of virtuosos
includes Noel Kaletsky on reeds, Bobby Grimm on banjo, Jim Maihack
on trombone, Pat Joyce on piano, Don Schroeder on drums and Steve
Lilley on cornet.Playing tunes from the sensitive to the
sensational, this band wows the crowds. Their motto could be "Nobody
comes to a concert to watch the musicians rest."
The St. Louis Rivermen concert is open to the public. Tickets, at
$20 each, can be purchased through the president's office at Lincoln
College.
The band is sponsored by the college board of trustees, and all
proceeds will benefit the fine arts department at the college.
