Frontier Communications names general manager in east-central Illinois

[April 25, 2012]  RANTOUL -- Frontier Communications (NASDAQ:FTR) has announced the appointment of Jon Chris Kaler as general manager of the company's market area in Rantoul and east-central Illinois. In this position, Kaler will be responsible for the markets of Clinton, Fisher, Hoopeston, Lincoln, Mahomet, Monticello, Paxton and Rantoul. Frontier offers broadband, digital phone service, satellite video, VoIP services, and customer premises equipment -- data and voice systems, support for commercial businesses, and E911 applications -- with Web security and data backup through the Frontier Secure suite of services.

They are accountable for Frontier's total operations within their respective districts, focusing not only on the technical aspects of our service, but more importantly, focusing on what needs to be done to provide customer service excellence, to be active members of our communities and to determine the best ways to build and grow Frontier's operations."

Kaler most recently served as executive director of the Rantoul Area Chamber of Commerce. He also currently serves as the vice chair of the East Central Illinois Economic Development District, representing six counties, and is vice president of the Community Foundation of Rantoul. Prior to his chamber affiliation, Kaler was owner of Zerck, a real estate and property management business. He also was an investment broker with Edward Jones and vice president for business development with the Bank of Rantoul. Additionally, Kaler has more than 14 years of telecommunications leadership and sales experience with the former GTE, Alltel, Eastern Illinois telephone companies that previously served the Rantoul area.

An active member of the Rantoul area community, Kaler volunteers with Habitat for Humanity and Penfield's Historic Farm Days. He is past chairman and board member of the village of Rantoul Plan Commission, past board member of the Rantoul Park District, and has served on the agricultural advisory group for Parkland College. Kaler was the girls basketball coach and the Home and School co-president for St. Malachy Grade School in Rantoul.

Kaler and his wife, Robin, reside in Rantoul with their children, Zoe and Emily.
