[April 28, 2012]  Talk about getting the most bang for your buck. For an admittance of $1, the performance by the Lincoln College Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Combos rivaled the best Fourth of July fireworks.

The end-of-year performance in the Johnston Center for Performing Arts on Friday drew a big crowd.

Titled "An Evening of Jazz," the great sounds of ragtime, contemporary, funk and swing music eras rocked the house. Performances delivered with precision and passion drew audience enthusiasm.

The production, under the guidance of Scott Woger, Lincoln College's director of instrumental studies, also included original student arrangements and compositions.

The ensemble included local residents T.J. Kissel, Derrick Spiker, Shelby Voyles, Cody Garretson, Matt Mason and Christian West.
