Illinois grain prices in country elevators

[August 01, 2012]  SPRINGFIELD -- This is Tuesday's report of the grain prices and trends, prepared by the USDA and the Illinois Department of Agriculture.

Illinois country grain prices were lower on Tuesday afternoon.

Technical trading at the Board of Trade weakened grain futures.

In yesterday's Weekly Crop Progress report, the USDA placed 5% of the Illinois corn
crop in good condition, with 24% fair and 71% in very poor to poor condition.

The Illinois soybean crop placed 9% in the good range, with 35% fair and 56% in the very poor to poor category.

In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids 7 to 13 cents lower at 7.86-8.11.

Soybean bids traded 13 to 15 cents lower at 17.11-17.29.

In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids were mostly 13 to 14 cents lower at 8.10-8.27.

Soybean bids were mostly 5 to 10 cents lower at 17.19-17.41.

Wheat bids were 26 to 27 cents lower
at 8.63-8.71.

In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were 13 to 18 cents lower at 8.01-8.42.

Soybean bids were mostly 10 to 13 cents lower at 17.21-17.37.

Wheat bids were mostly 26 to 27 cents lower at 8.57-8.88.
