[July 26, 2012] Lincoln Fire Department fire and rescue reports for Thursday, July 26:

Firefighter sustains minor injury in Monday morning fire

On July 23 at 1:31 a.m. the Lincoln Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 1027 Pulaski St. The fire was discovered by a neighbor.

When firefighters arrived at the single-story wood-framed structure, they discovered fire in both the basement and first floor. The firefighters were able to extinguish the fire with two 1 3/4-inch lines. The fire damaged some structural components of the home and caused severe smoke and heat damage throughout. The total cost of the damage is estimated to be around $100,000.

The sole occupant of the home had been staying with relatives and was not home at the time of the fire. One firefighter suffered a minor shoulder injury during the fire.

Firefighters from the Lincoln Fire Department were assisted by firefighters from Lincoln Rural, Atlanta and Mount Pulaski.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, so the official classification is currently undetermined.
