Illinois grain prices in country elevators

[August 07, 2012]  SPRINGFIELD -- This is Monday's report of the grain prices and trends, prepared by the USDA and the Illinois Department of Agriculture.

Illinois country grain prices were mixed on Monday afternoon, with corn and soybeans lower and wheat higher.

Rainfall that fell over some of the cornbelt last weekend weighed on soybean futures.

In the Weekly Crop Progress report, the USDA placed 23% of the US corn crop in the
good to excellent category, down 1% from one week ago.

They placed 29% of the US soybean crop in the good to excellent range, which was
unchanged from last week.

In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids mostly 7 to 10 cents lower at 7.86-8.07.

Soybean bids traded 49 to 60 cents lower at 15.79-15.98.

In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids were 4 to 9 cents lower at 8.00-8.17.

Soybean bids were 48 to 49 cents lower
at 16.25-16.40.

In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were 7 to 8 cents lower at 7.91-8.37.

Soybean bids were 39 to 43 cents lower at
16.07-16.35.

Wheat bids were 1 to 2 cents higher at 8.66-8.90.
