[August 06, 2012]  The Lincoln/Logan County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the return of the Lincoln Art & Balloon Festival Parade. The festival will kick off on Aug. 24, a Friday afternoon, with a lights and siren parade that will include pilots, sponsors and community members.

The parade lineup will be on Wyatt Avenue at 2:30 p.m., and the parade will start on Kickapoo at 3:30 p.m. The parade will then travel north and turn left onto Pulaski Street, turn right onto Chicago, turn right onto Pekin Street, then turn left onto Kickapoo Street and continue traveling north to Airport Road, turn onto Airport Road and enter the festival through the main gates.

Parade participants are encouraged to pass out candy and giveaways to parade viewers along the way. All walkers will have to exit the parade route at the Ace Hardware parking lot.

The chamber looks at this as a great opportunity to showcase sponsors, pilots and the community as the weekend of fun and entertainment begins. The chamber encourages the community to get involved and celebrate.

To join the parade lineup, call 217-735-2385 or email events@lincolnillinois.com. For complete registration information, visit http://www.lincolnillinois.com/.
