[August 14, 2012]  SPRINGFIELD -- The late Jean Stoll was recognized on Friday at the Illinois State Fair as a member of the Illinois 4-H Hall of Fame Class of 2012 inductees. Jean's husband, Hubert Stoll of Chestnut (shown in the photo), accepted the Hall of Fame medallion. The Logan County Extension office nominated Jean with the following statement:

Combining expertise and enthusiasm for 4-H youth, Jean Stoll co-founded the Wo-He-Lo 4-H club in the 1960's. A charter member of the Chestnut Happy Homemakers and a certified Master Food Preserver, Jean judged 4-H Foods and Foods Demonstrations for more than 10 years at county shows and the Illinois State Fair. Jean – 4-H "Mom" to eight and "Grandma" to twenty-six – furnished countless 4-H youth within her family and beyond with cooking tips, public presentation coaching, and textiles projects assistance for forty-five consecutive years. Memorial gifts received after her passing in 2006 produced the Delivering Dynamic Demonstrations DVD released in 2011.

Mrs. Stoll was one of 45 members of the Illinois 4-H Hall of Fame Class of 2012 from throughout the state.

The Illinois 4-H Foundation established the Hall of Fame in 2005 to honor extraordinary 4-H alumni, volunteers and former 4-H staff. Illinois 4-H Hall of Fame inductees have a track record of exemplary service to 4-H or outstanding career and community achievement and are nominated by either county University of Illinois Extension staff or by the Illinois 4-H Foundation Board.
