[August 14, 2012]  BLOOMINGTON -- The Illinois Lost Veterans Project will be at the Cultural Festival, 1020 S. Morris Ave. in Bloomington, on Saturday and Sunday. This pilot project is designed to assist veterans in getting the benefits they deserve. It is a free service provided by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

The Illinois Lost Veterans Project has two primary objectives:

  • To increase the level of awareness of the enormous array of VA benefits available to veterans and their families and encourage enrollment through the nearest VA point of contact

  • To assist veterans who are struggling to cope with unemployment, medical needs, trauma and other personal needs.

If you served in the military, then this service is for you. For more information on the services provided and for assistance 24 hours a day, call 855-455-8387 (VETS) or visit www.lostveteransproject.org.
