[August 20, 2012]  In the latest NJCAA Men's Soccer National Poll, the Lincoln College team earned a preseason No. 10 ranking.

Lincoln finished the 2011 season with a 19-4-1 record while capturing the Region 24 tournament for the second year in a row. After defeating MCC Maple Woods in the district tournament in Kansas City, the Lynx finished 1-1-1 in the national tournament at Paradise Valley Community College in Phoenix, Ariz.

The past two years have seen the men's soccer team finish fifth in the nation at the NJCAA national championships.

"I am very excited about this upcoming year," said Lincoln College head soccer coach Ben Massena. "We've got a great group of incoming players, which might be my best recruiting class ever. Add that to our six returning starters, three of which are on the backline, it could make for an exciting year."

Two key returners are Adrien Sathler of Miami, Fla., and Julio Velasquez of Albuquerque, N.M.

Coach Massena is in his ninth year as head coach of the Lynx and earned Region 24 Coach of the Year in 2011 and 2012.
