[August 21, 2012]  (AP) -- The NBA is teaming up with Ticketmaster to create a website where fans can buy and re-sell tickets.

The agreement will make Ticketmaster the official ticket provider for the league. The NBA said it will offer buyers all the available ticket options for games, including tickets from the primary market as well as tickets being resold by other fans.

Ticketmaster will validate every ticket purchased on the league's site. Chris Granger, the league's executive vice president of team marketing and business operations, said Ticketmaster was "the right fit" for such a partnership with the NBA.

The site is expected to be up and running in October.
