Friday was a perfect day for a parade, and people turned out to participate and watch as the annual Lincoln Art & Balloon Festival pilots parade passed through town.

The route is quite long, beginning on Wyatt Avenue in town and ending at the Logan County Airport. Along the way, kids and their parents turned out -- kids with bags in hand, ready to collect tons of candy.

There were nearly 50 entries in this year's parade, including several of the balloon pilots, many of the sponsors who support the annual festival and some folks who just enjoy being in a parade.

This year the grand marshal was Dan Tackett, who recently retired from a 44-year career with the Lincoln Courier. Also participating in this year's event were Miss Logan County Fair Dani Juilfs and Little Miss Logan County Karson Mott.
