[August 21, 2012]  Lincoln Fire Department fire and rescue reports for Tuesday, Aug. 21: 

Sunday night fire destroys garage

Aug. 19 at 8:45 p.m. the Lincoln Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 600 block of South College.

The residents called 911 after noticing fire underneath a vehicle in the garage.

Units arrived on-scene to find a 20-by-30-foot detached garage heavily involved. Firefighters quickly deployed 2 3/4-inch hand lines to extinguish the fire and prevented its spread to nearby structures.

There were no reported injuries.

The loss of the garage and contents amounts to approximately $30,000.

The cause is undetermined, pending further investigation.
