Race car to be raffled, benefiting children with cancer

[August 28, 2012]  HIGHLAND -- Leaps of Love, an organization established to help families affected by childhood brain tumors and late effects of childhood cancer, has recently been given a 2008 Rayburn Combo race car with 604 crate to be raffled off to raise funds for the organization. The winner may choose between the car or $10,000. The car will be on display at Lincoln Speedway on Sept. 7 and raffle tickets may be purchased then.

Tickets will be sold for $20 each or six for $100.

The "race-ready" crate car will also be displayed and tickets sold at the following tracks:

  • Sept. 1 -- I-55 Raceway, Pevely, Mo.

  • Sept. 8 -- Highland Speedway, Highland

  • Sept. 14 -- Tri-City Speedway, Granite City

  • Sept. 21 -- Paducah International Raceway, Paducah, Ky.

  • Sept. 28 -- Belle-Clair Speedway, Belleville

  • Oct. 12 -- Tri-City Speedway, Granite City
    Drawing at intermission.

The drawing will be at intermission at the Tri-City Speedway in Granite City on Oct. 12. No tickets will be sold there after the start of the first race on Oct. 12, and no tickets will be sold over the Internet after noon that day. The winner does not have to be in attendance to win.
