Lincoln Christian University men's soccer

[August 30, 2012]  SPRINGFIELD -- The Lincoln Christian University men's soccer team claimed victory over Robert Morris University-Springfield Wednesday night 1-0. Junior Craig Hoskins sealed the victory for the Red Lions with his goal in the starting minutes of overtime. Freshman Jordan Ryherd provided the assist.

Freshman Mitchel Brannock kept the Eagles off the scoreboard with his six saves during the match. Hoskins led the way with seven shots on goal for the Red Lions.

"It was a great way to start off the season," said Blake Saathoff, a junior on the team. "We still have a lot to work on, but the season looks promising."

LCU (1-0) will travel to Dubuque, Iowa, where they will take on Emmaus Bible College on Saturday at 1 p.m.
