This year marks the 25th
anniversary of Christmas in the Chapel at Lincoln Christian
University. Each year the students, staff and volunteers work
hard to bring a show to the community that will reflect the spirit

entertaining moments as students took the stage in a variety of
Below is a portion of the
foreword that was offered in the show program:
Several weeks ago it all began to happen around here again. The
lights and decorations were dusted off. The "Rejoice" sign was
hung and the white ramp put into place. Jennifer Boeke and Tom
Sowers began weaving their magic with paint and power tools, and
Adam Johnson arrived to work his annual Christmas miracle with
amateur actors. And of course, the familiar refrain of "Good

room. It would seem that the spirit of Christmas has once again
invaded our campus.
We certainly want the spirit of Christmas to be here. We look
forward to its arrival. The sights and sounds, images and
aromas, packages and parties all tell us the Christmas spirit is
upon us. But is it really? Or have we been film-flamed into

trappings of Christmas are nothing more than costumes and props
we don every December to conjure up the Christmas spirit?
Sometimes it works. But more often than not, all the razzle and
dazzle of the Christmas season cannot mask the reality of life,
and the spirit we long for eludes us.
