[December 02, 2012]  LINCOLN -- Ruby M. Parks, 91, of Lincoln, formerly of rural Atlanta, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at 5 p.m. at St. Clara's Manor.

Lincoln- Ruby M. Parks, 91, of Lincoln, formerly of rural Atlanta passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. at St. Clara's Manor in Lincoln.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Parks will be held on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Quiram Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta with Mr. Tim Searby officiating.

Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be in Zion Cemetery in Lincoln.

Ruby Madeline Bloemker was born on December 16, 1920 in Dieterich, Il the daughter of Walter and Blanche Poynter Bloemker. She married Andrew J. Parks on February 16, 1937 in Effingham, Ill. He preceded her in death in 1993.

Surviving Ruby are her children: Thressia (Norman K.) Usherwood of Atlanta, Rita (Edwin) Carey of Newburgh, Ind., Tom (Ada) Parks of Atlanta. Two sisters: Bertha Leesman of Lincoln, Bessie Budde of Dieterich, Il.; Twelve Grandchildren: K. Bradley Usherwood, Ronald J. Usherwood, Douglas W. Usherwood, Edwin Carey, Sean Carey, Shane Carey, Joel Carey, Anne Carey, Todd Parks, Christine Cleeton, Rick W. Wilson, J. Rob Wilson; 31 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren.

Funeral Director

She was preceded in death by her husband and three sisters.

Ruby retired from Bartmann Nursing Home in rural Atlanta.

Memorials may be made to the Atlanta Rescue Squad.
